Meet Dr. Myhre

Dr. David Myhre DDS is a general dentist with post graduate training in Restorative Dentistry and Digital Dentistry as well as Oral Surgery. He provides patients with expert care and personalized attention at Avery Ranch Dental in Austin, Texas. He was born in Arizona at Fort Huachuca and spent his childhood living in many places as part of a military family. He has lived not only on military bases all over the United States but all over Asia and Europe as well and is now proud to call Austin, TX, his home. 

Dr. Myhre earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors Engineering at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. He served as an officer in the Air Force for 12 years and then attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he graduated cum laude with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He went on to complete his postgraduate Advanced Education in General Dentistry during a residency in San Diego, CA, where he was the top resident in his program.

In 2010, Dr. Myhre won the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Restorative Dentistry. He also was recognized as the 2014 Clinician of the Year for the Naval Health Clinic Annapolis at the US Naval Academy. He holds memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. His certificates include Basic Cardiac Life Support, Nitrous Oxide Sedation, CEREC CAD-CAM, Western Regional Examination Board Certification.

Like all of Avery Ranch Dental staff, Dr. Myhre has a passion for giving back to the community. His community service and volunteer efforts include spending time at the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic to provide important dental care to homeless, economically disadvantaged and under-served residents. He has also undertaken mission work during a trip to Piedras Negras, Mexico. Dr. Myhre is proud to serve Austin patients needing general and cosmetic dentistry at Avery Ranch.
