In order to maintain healthy teeth, it takes a lifetime of care. It's important to take the correct steps every day to not only take care of them but prevent any problems in the future.
A few things to keep in mind:
1.) Don't neglect your tongue.
Plaque can also build up on your tongue. Gently brush your tongue every time your brush your teeth.
2.) Use a fluoride toothpaste. No matter which brand or version of toothpaste you choose, make sure it contains fluoride.
3.) Floss, floss, FLOSS!
We know you hear it all the time but you should treat flossing the same way you treat brushing your teeth. Flossing not only cleans areas your toothbrush can't but it also stimulates gum, reduces plaque, and helps lower inflammation in the area.
4.) Visit a dentist at least twice a year.
Dentists have the ability to remove calculus and look for cavities, but they will also be able to spot potential issues and offer treatment solutions. At a minimum, you should see a dentist at least twice a year for cleanings and checkups.
